So very excited to share with you today the closing piece from my recital.
Also, feel special, because I'm posting this video for you all before I even announced that I uploaded it! haha
(please know that this video is not HD in video or audio...sorry)
I played this piece (called "Admiration") with my dad when my grandmother passed away less than two years ago, so needless to say its a very special piece for both of us!!
"Admiration", to me, was just that: a dedication of thanks to everyone who has played such a supportive role in my music career. Holy goodness, it has been a challenging road!! My parents have been an over the top support system and source of encouragement, along side my extended family who are exactly the same....just living a little farther away. I could go on forever about my teachers (Dr. Arnone, Mrs. Shanley, Dr. Carlson, Dr. Wilson, Mr. Heyde....to name a few) and how I would not even be CLOSE to where I am without them. My friends at home, at Baylor, and you guys have been so encouraging to me! And Drew for kicking me in the butt (not literally) when I need motivation and being an inspiration to me as well.....I have so much to be thankful for!!!
EEEEEEEEEE (I'm really excited ok?!)
Who are you thankful for today?
Much love <3
All I can say is... wow.
ReplyDeleteThat is an absolutely beautiful piece, and you did a magnificent job!! *applause* :)
This is absolutely beautiful! And I'm glad you loved the song and playing it so much. (: It's great that you have such a passion for something you're good at.
ReplyDeletePAIGE. I love this. Firstly, the fact that you're with your dad and Drew makes me want to tear up out of happiness just thinking about it. Secondly, you played magnificiently. Gorgeous thing to listen to first thing in the morning!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!! I got chills!!! And it made me want to break out my flute and be good again :P But that's not going to happen anytime soon, let's face it.
ReplyDeleteI'm finally getting around to watching this video, and it's AMAZING!! I love the story behind the song, and the song itself. Wonderful job! :)
